SMARTER FINANCIAL STRATEGIES

A Smarter Way to Get Out of Debt

Without Taking Out Another Loan

A Debt Action Plan may help you use your current income more efficiently, reduce interest, and pay off debt sooner without adding another loan.

What is a Debt Action Plan?

A Debt Action Plan is an educational, numbers-based review of your current debts, minimum payments, interest rates, balances, and available monthly cash flow. Its purpose is to identify whether changing the order and timing of payments could help you:

Why Minimum Payments Can Keep You in Debt Longer

Minimum payments are designed to keep an account current, but they are not necessarily designed to help you become debt-free quickly. A significant portion of each payment may go toward interest, especially during the early years of a mortgage or when revolving balances carry high rates.

For example, a $300,000, 30-year mortgage at 6.5% interest could result in approximately $382,000 in total interest if carried for the full term. That means the homeowner could repay roughly $682,000 altogether, excluding taxes, insurance, and other expenses.

The issue is not simply how much you owe. It is also how long interest is allowed to accumulate.

Could Your Current Budget Work More Efficiently?

A proper review looks at your actual numbers and determines whether a better payment sequence may exist.

Each paid-off obligation may free money that can then be applied to the next priority

Request depend on balances, interest rate, income, expenses, payment history, available cash flow, and the individual's ability to follow the plan.

You may not need another loan. You may need a better plan for the money you already have.

Start With Your Numbers, Not a Sales Pitch

At Family Insurance Solutions, I believe education should come before a recommendation. The first step is a conversation about what you owe, what you currently pay, and what you want your financial future to look like.

If the numbers show that a Debt Action Plan may help, I will explain the strategy clearly so you can make an informed decision. If it does not fit your situation, you should know that before moving forward.
